Obviously, though, judging by the sheer amount of reviews Loophole has, many people love that kind of thing and would (violently?) disagree with me on that.

Secondly, now you have every right to dislike Loophole (obviously), and I myself know something about an ff washed in (not deserving it in my opinion) love. It feels like screaming, right? ; ) But jokes aside, I can slightly agree with you. The plot of Loophole is not something ingenious and moments between them border on unhealthy mushy fangirlism, but looking at every fanfiction I've ever read, Loophole is the good one. Leafy doesn't abuse Itachi, has a nice, professional language (opposed to fangirlish) and well... It's not my favourite story, but I've read much worse. Yes, the ones, that everyone loves and would protest for me calling it bad +.+
May I ask which stories do you like? I'm genuinely interested.

I have never been wise.
I'm incredibly sorry for not replying faster. I'll just leave my apology at that, seeing how anything more would dig me further into the hole.
Anyways, I really like more or less anything by paws-bells, and I'm keeping up with "The Contentious Heart," by elle6778. I've got one called "Perception" bookmarked, but reading it over again, I don't like it quite as much. For some reason, I'm thinking of the names "Midazuki" (sp?) and "Captive" as one for fics I liked also, but I don't seem to remember just what they were about.
There's a whole slew of other stories I liked, but my browsing history files got corrupted recently so I don't have all my favourite fanfictions bookmarked anymore.
Talking further about Loophole, it wasn't the plot or the tone that really put me off. It was the fact that it had too many blasted adjectives and descriptive sentences that disrupted the flow, and thus my enjoyment of the story. I suppose I mean to say that I just don't like Leafygirl's (sp?) writing style. I even checked her other stories and was very disappointed to find that they were all written the same way, but, judging by the amount of reviews she has, I guess many people don't have any qualms about that.

STOP BREATHING MY AIR!!!!!!
Do you mean "Mikadzuki"? It's the continuation of "Captive", but I must admit these are stories I forgot after a week or so.
I love "Perception", mainly because of the feeling it lefts. I read it really long time ago and now, I'm not so fond of some particular scenes or motives, but the ending was powerful and the way I liked. That's why it's one of my favourites stories, because thinking of it in retrospection always brings pleasant memories and "good taste".
I see. Writing style is definitely something that can bug you. I myself haven't noticed that in Leafy, I'm rather bothered by stories which have many gramatical/spelling mistakes and are written in a "fangirlish-marysuish" style (than a style that is correct, but boring).
Speaking of a nice style, have you maybe read "The Way of the Wind"? It's an AU story with Itachi being Itachi and a very intriguing Anbu captain and Sakura who have most interesting character change, the best I've ever met. There is no boring description and the Authoress knows how to use... words. I recommend it with all my might :3
